Camp Mighty Mind

Angelfish Therapy is proud to present Camp Mighty Mind, a 3 week summer camp that involves movement, music and play.  It is brought to you by Ailene and Cindy and their learning from a “Ready Bodies Ready Minds” seminar.

Success with Angelfish

I reached out to Angelfish this past January 2010 to see how their aquatic programs could benefit my daughter Samantha. Sam has special needs and will be six in March. She has been in two other local swim programs (special needs focus) with little success. While she loves the water, in the pool she would just cling to my neck.

During her first therapy session her therapist Cindy explained to me (in an easy to understand way) what was going on with Sam in the water and explained the strategies she was using for Sam to gain a sense of her awareness in the water. While Sam was floating in the water with a bubble and weights on her ankles, she was truly finding her legs in the water. By

the end of her second therapy session, Sam swam on her own with nothing on but flippers! Amazing!
I highly recommend Cindy and Angelfish Therapy to all those who are undecided about what type of aquatic program your child needs. I know that we would have saved a lot of time and money if we started with Angelfish Therapy from the start.

1:1 Progressions

We are focusing this month on progressions with our therapist one on one.  Listed below are a few different techniques we use to help with this progressions.

This video demonstrates one on one righting reactions. You will see how the child will work on righting his trunk and work to have reciprocal motion in his leg kicks. All the while responding to his balance.
