WHAT IS CAMP MIGHTY MIND?
Camp Mighty Mind is a fun-filled movement- and activity-based program that your kids will love. Held at St. Paul’s Church in Darien CT, this intensive and engaging day camp for children aged 5-12 is designed to improve weak brain connections by using neuroplasticity and the brain’s innate ability to rewire itself based on intensive stimulation. We incorporate exercises from various educational training including: Superbrain Yoga, Therapeeds, Ready Bodies Ready Minds, INPP, Playproject, Alert Program for self-regulation, Skillastic Soccer & Basketball, and many more.

Summer Full-Day Camp ($3000 *) will run in July/August from Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:00pm. This program offers our brain-based therapeutic movement program in the morning, with a half-hour lunch break at 12:30pm, then our body-based recreational program in the afternoon. We are currently accepting up to 30 children for this option.
Summer Afternoon-Only Camp ($2400 *) will run in July/August from Monday to Friday from 1:00pm to 4:30pm. This program has been scheduled to accommodate those children who might need to attend other summer programs in the morning, and simply offers our brain-based therapeutic component in the afternoon. We are currently accepting up to 20 children for this option.
* While activities at Camp Mighty Mind are therapeutic in nature, they should not be considered Physical or Occupational Therapy, and are not reimbursable by insurance.

“IS CAMP MIGHTY MIND THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR MY CHILD?”
If you haven’t already, please view the video introduction and other YouTube videos above, which will help give you a much better sense of whether this 3-week day camp is a good fit for your child. Then go through the following checklist, and determine if all of these criteria apply to your child:
- Is between 5 and 12 years old.
- Can participate with a group of 6 children (2 staff) during the morning activities and with a group of 8-10 children during the recreational component. Also, small groups will come together as one big group (30 participants) once during the morning programming.
- Can verbally communicate with other children and have a reciprocating conversation.
- Over the past two summers, most children attending camp had one or more of the following difficulties: Motor Incoordination, Core Weakness, ADD/ADHD, Auditory Processing Dysfunction, PDD-NOS, Asperger Syndrome, Very High Functioning Autism, Dyslexia, LD and Sensory Over Arousal or Sensory Under Arousal. Does your child fit one of these?
- Has an effective, proven method of redirection that works for them within a short period of less than 5 minutes. Due to the nature of the activities and the group programming offered, we are unable to manage behavior that requires lengthy 1:1 problem solving and continual re-directing.
If these criteria apply to your child, and you think he/she would be a good fit, please contact Ailene Tisser (203-969-6431 or ailene@angelfishtherapy.com) or Cindy Freedman (203-526-1336 or cindy@angelfishtherapy.com) to further discuss their participation in Camp Mighty Mind. We receive an overwhelming number of requests and encourage you to view the videos, read the testimonials, and make your decision in a timely fashion.
