We are focusing this month on progressions with our therapist one on one.  Listed below are a few different techniques we use to help with this progressions.

This video demonstrates one on one righting reactions. You will see how the child will work on righting his trunk and work to have reciprocal motion in his leg kicks. All the while responding to his balance.

Working one on one with a child to achieve arm extensions using a flotation device.

Continued work on balancing and extensions in a one on one envrionment.

This is a 2-day workshop that is held two-three times a year. It is designed by and OT & PT for therapists working in pediatric aquatics. You will learn dramatic and effective techniques from trained OT/PT aquatic therapists.

This fast-paced course includes classroom style discussions and video tapes of actual therapy sessions coupled with getting into the water and practicing techniques you will learn on children appearing in the videos. This dynamic progression of therapy moves way beyond traditional individual treatment.

Objectives of TOTALLY TREATMENT:

• Gain knowledge of how to perform pediatric aquatic evaluation and develop an individual treatment plan.
• Gain increased repertoire of pediatric aquatic treatment ideas and handling techniques for individual therapy as well as small groups.
• Understand the uses and application of aquatic equipment with the pediatric population.
• Learn how to develop effective aquatic treatments to compliment current land based programs.

Angelfish Group Therapy is an easy to follow 25-minute instructional DVD that guides professionals through an 8-week pediatric aquatic therapy group program.
Specific goals and objectives, easy to view handling techniques, and 8-weeks of handouts Level I and Level II classes are included.

Handling Techniques is a 45-minute instructional DVD that will guide you through aquatic treatments of children with physical challenges such as Cerebral Palsy, Rett’s Syndrome, sensorimotor impairment and autism spectrum disorder.

You will watch treatment sessions while the OT or PT are explaining what they are doing and why they are doing it.
