Mission Statement
Angelfish Therapy® is an innovative pediatric company. Programs are developed from expertise in OT, PT and Recreation. Our mission is to provide children with special needs the lifelong skill of being comfortable in thier own bodies so they can independently participate in the world around them.
We achieve this by offering the following:
- Aquatic Therapy: Aquatic OT and PT is offered in private, semi-private, small group, and parent child class sessions.
- Swim Instruction: A Swim Whisperer trained swim instructor utilizes strategies for teaching a child with sensory processing and motor coordination difficulties, how to swim.
- Camp Mighty Mind: This therapeutic 3 week brain based, movement camp helps children automate motor activities so they can learn and process information more effectively. It is designed for children with learning disabilities, auditory processing disorder, attention deficit, motor planning difficulties and impulsivity.
- Camp Angelfish: This one week recreational camp under the guidance of Angelfish therapy’s owners.
- “Angelfish” campers: Children and teens with special needs needing one to one (24hr) assistance.
- “Starfish” campers: Children and teens needing extra support. The ratio of staff to children is 1:3.
- “Dolphin” campers: Typical siblings, cousins or friends of the children with special needs.
- Education/Training: Continuing education courses for therapists and swim professionals wanting to learn more about working with children with a wide variety of special needs.
- DVD Products: Aquatic Therapy training DVD’s and our Swim Whisperers educational DVD are being used internationally to help other professionals learn the skills to work effectively with children with sensory and motor difficulties, in the water.
